Added: 30 August 2018
Fresh off the back of revealing the new Volvo XC40 T5 Twin Engine, the Swedish manufacturer have revealed three more variants: T3, T4 and D3.
The compact SUV will gain two new petrol engines and a diesel engine. The petrol range will now kick off with the T3. The T3 is powered by a 1.5 litre turbocharged 3 cylinder engine, which in effect matches the T5 Twin Engine but without the electrical aspect. The engine will produce 154bhp and deliver 265Nm of torque which will translate into a 0-62mph time of 9.4 seconds, and will deliver 45.6mpg. This will be paired with a six speed manual gearbox with an eight speed automatic to follow in the future.

Next in line will be the T4. The T4 is a 2.0 litre petrol engine that comes with an automatic transmission and will be four wheel drive. The increase in engine size means 187bhp is produced and this reduces 0-62mph time down to 8.2 seconds and delivers 40.9mpg.
The new diesel option comes branded as the D3. The D3 is available as either a front-wheel drive manual, or an automatic which comes as either front or four wheel drive. Producing 148bhp the D3 has 320Nm of torque. This converts into an impressive 0-62mph time of just 8.2 seconds while pairing this with fantastic economy figures of 58.9mpg.
